Fred Restaurant is now Fred Royal Aruba

Fred Aruba is now under the stewardship of Roy Engelen, from "2 Fools and a Bull" as well as Michelin 2 star restaurants.

We aim to give you a unique and intimate dining experience filled with an evening (3.5 hours) of delicious food, great wines, and lots of fun, without having to think about yesterday or tomorrow because it all about this evening.

We are a small restaurant that seats sixteen guests at a U-shaped high-top bar for guests 18 years and older. We will present you a playful five course set menu with an optional wine pairing that will compliment every course. We put a lot of love and effort into creating the menu along with the wine pairings, so we ask you to come in open minded and not to be afraid of trying new things.  We believe this is the best way for us to highlight fine dining in a casual way.

We start at 7 PM sharp and dinner will be finished around 10:30 PM. In between courses we have a couple of small breaks to stretch your legs and mingle with other guests. At the end of the dinner, we offer the opportunity to sit on the rooftop terrace with us. (Talk about silly things)

Reservations

Making your reservation (18 years and up) is key at Fred Restaurant; reservation requests will be confirmed per e-mail. However, please keep in mind that you will need to re-confirm your attendance at this dinner feast 24 hours in advance, otherwise your reservation will be cancelled.

We are anything but pretentious, as long as you're comfortable, your'e fine. Please leave swimwear and speedo at the hotel though...

Closed on Saturday and Sunday

Downtown parking is free of charge after 3 pm till next morning.

History

25 years ago...I ate in a restaurant kitchen. A wonderful memory that has always stayed with me.

16 years ago I moved to Aruba with my family.

After a few years of this and that, I became the chef at Marandi Restaurant. 12 1/2 years ago, this is also when and where I met my frontman Tommie Rensen ...The kitchen itself had room for 8 guests at table-live cooking. It was a success. (At the same time I was preparing meals for the 80-chair main dining room).

I kept returning to my memories of 25 years ago. That is what I wanted... to have my own restaurant kitchen. And so 2 Fools and a Bull came into being. After only 3 years it was named Best Restaurant in the Caribbean (by Trip Advisor)! I'd hit the top... time for a new challenge...

Since many guests already know me as Fred, that has become my new restaurant's name: FRED... and it is Live Cooking, where the guest can participate, ask questions, watch, perhaps enjoying a drink as their dinner courses come to be. It's 100% Fred!
